We collaborate with partners to develop software for space missions. This includes embedded systems, instrument simulations, research tools and scientific data processors. Among the missions our experts have contributed to are GOCE, Euclid, Sentinel-1, Sentinel-5 and the Future Launchers Preparatory Program by ESA. We are familiar with the ECSS standards used by the industry and the European Space Agency.

In our latest project we have worked closely with Airbus Defense & Space (The Netherlands) to develop the software for the Attitude, Orbit & Control of the Euclid Mission. This system must be extremely delicate and precise because the spacecraft must operate precisely in the Earth-Sun L2 point some 1.5 million km from the Earth. Euclid is an ESA mission which will investigate the expansion history of the Universe and the growth of cosmic structures over the last 10 billion years of cosmic history.

Sensors & Embedded System

In the semiconductor industry we have led teams to develop control software for lithography processes that include extremely precise nano-scale precisions. These machines have at least two levels of software: the functional procedures and algorithms that drive the machine and its control systems, but also the user side software which means Human Machine Interfaces, logging, visualizations and technical support. In these projects we have worked with Demcon and ASML (The Netherlands).

Some years ago, within the dutch company S&T (The Netherlands), we worked to develop a prognostic system for leak detection in the ITER combustion chamber. ITER is the world's largest fusion experiment as a collaboration between 35 nations. The internal plasma chamber needs to reach precise conditions to sustain fusion and one of the obstacles to overcome is leakage. To enhance the diagnostics we developed a system based on mathematical models that pinpoints the most likely points of leakage. The system then implemented connectors to the well known EPICS scada environment.

Cloud, Big Data & Artificial Intelligence

To provide our solutions in remote sensing we have to build infrastructure and that goes now in the cloud. These infrastructures handle all the deluge of data produced by satellites, sensors or people. We helped eLeaf to migrate their existing algorithms and processing software into the cloud, with docker containers and automated deployment. Our engineers adapted their code, created interfaces and packaged their tools in a way that can now be easily scaled online. The solution we offered was based on our own infrastructure design for satellite data processing.

For ACF Technologies (Mexico and USA) we are currently working to develop a smart robot that can analyze streams of data on customer service. The robot is able to consume the data of thousands of customers per minute and return a smart ordering of queues for agents to provide efficient customer service. The algorithm is based on well known industry rules but also on machine learning trained from several years of customer service information.

For Airbus Defense & Space (The Netherlands) we created an analysis environment for their engineers and scientists to work with the data generated by the Sentinel-5P satellite. The satellite generates around 80GB of data daily on atmospheric composition. The environment we prepared included jupyter notebooks with visualization controls to view gas concentrations in the atmosphere on leaflet maps of the world. With these the engineers were able to process gigabytes of data into air quality metrics and other useful applications.

For our customer Invest in Visions (Germany) we are able to process all their information of customers all over the world into a single centralized system. The system interprets thousands of excel sheets where it is homogenized and converted into analysis ready data. From these they can now generate reports, chartas and analysis that would have otherwise been extremely time consuming.
